Accountancy with a Purpose
Goverseth Accountants are very proud of our involvement with Community Of Purpose. We actively sponsor their Break Free Program, to help transform the lives and futures of young people in Bristol, through businesses who act as a force for good.
Our purpose is to help transform smaller businesses within Bristol and the wider region, using our accountancy and tax knowledge and experience, whether it be to help them grow, find ways to improve their cash flow, or budget to be able to recruit new staff.
We are a partner in growth for our clients, so that they in turn, can improve the lives of others, whether it is for themselves, their staff, customers or suppliers.
We believe it is so important to help others and especially in the current uncertain economic times we are in. By helping young people in Bristol through our Break Free sponsorship, we know it will propel them and transform their lives now and into the future.
Break Free: Eradicating Holiday Hunger
What is Break Free?
Break Free is a holiday activity Program that targets holiday hunger by providing high quality activities and free food for children aged eight – 13 from areas across the most need in South Bristol.
Break Free confronts what has become one of the biggest social issues in modern society in the UK – with many parents of children on free school meals struggling to provide for them during the holiday period.
Community of Purpose takes young people off the Knowle West Estate to visit a range of wonderful attractions that they wouldn’t ordinarily be able to access. The Program helps tackle the very real issue of holiday hunger, every young person that attends the Break Free Program is provided with breakfast and lunch to ensure they get at least two hot meals throughout the day.
Aim
The aim of the Program is that young people can break free from having nothing to do, break free from their screens and their homes, and break free from being hungry during the school holidays. We are providing unique childhood experiences through sports, arts, music, and drama, with staff from the local area that understand the issues.
Launched in 2018, Break Free is based on years of working in communities in South Bristol. Investment from Arthur David, Elmtree Garden Contractors, Lancer Scott and Bristol Water helps support 1000’s of youngsters throughout the year. Arthur David and Hobbs House Bakery also donate needed food and supplies – helping to combat food poverty among children in Bristol.
Break Free is one of six key initiatives run by Community of Purpose – a CIC based in South Bristol that works to transform the lives and futures of young people across Bristol.
Children get free meals in term time, but in the holidays go hungry. Rather than looking forward to the school holidays, the holidays have become for many a stressful time, when families who already struggle find it even harder to provide for their children and young people.
Community of Purpose believes that everyone can contribute meaningfully to economic and social development if they are given the right support and opportunities. to edit it.
