Goverseth - Summer Economic Update 2020

Chancellor Rishi Sunak presented the Summer Economic Update against a backdrop of economic uncertainty caused by coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown. I have pleasure in attaching a link to a summary here.

The Update provides an overview of the key announcements arising from the Chancellor’s speech. Measures include a new Job Retention Bonus to support the phasing out of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS), a VAT reduction for businesses in the hospitality and tourism sector and a temporary increase to the nil-rate band of residential Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT).

• We have now moved to our new offices opposite UWE Bristol, at Bristol Business Park. Full address details are shown below in the email footer.
• We have moved all meetings online using Zoom since March and plan to do so for the foreseeable future. They are many advantages to everyone of using this approach including travel and time saving and the ability to share multiple documents on-screen.

• We have a new team member, Leah, starting with us on Monday 13 July. Leah has over 20 years’ experience across accounting, tax, VAT and bookkeeping, and over time this will enable Carl to focus more on maintaining and improving client communication.
